Dr. Alan Gingold earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor before continuing his studies at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Westbury, NY. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, where he also completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology.
His areas of expertise include: capsule endoscopy, reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and hemorrhoidal banding.
Among his notable appointments and committees, he is Chief of Gastroenterology and Chairman of the Nutrition Committee at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset. He has also served as a member of the Colon and Rectal Cancer Institute at the Steeplechase Cancer Center and was a member of the Physician Advisory Committee at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset. Dr. Gingold is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Gingold has been the recipient of numerous awards which include a Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award, Patients’ Choice Award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition, Bridges to Excellence IBD Care Recognition, and Top 10 Doctor/New Jersey Gastroenterologist.
Dr. Gingold has contributed articles to several publications including: Digestive Diseases and Sciences (October 2007), Life Sciences (October 2003), and Teratology (December 1999).
