Dr. Alan Gingold is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and is the former Chief of Gastroenterology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ. His areas of expertise include Inflammatory Bowel Disease, capsule endoscopy, reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, chronic liver disease, and hemorrhoidal banding. Dr Gingold currently serves as a Member at Large as part of the Medical Executive Committee for RWJ University Hospital at Somerset. He is also on the Bylaws Committee and is the former Chairman for the Nutrition Committee at RWJ University Hospital Somerset. Following his studies at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Westbury, NY, Dr. Gingold completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology, as well as his residency in internal medicine, at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Dr. Gingold has been the recipient of numerous awards, as well as contributed articles to several publications, including Digestive Diseases and Sciences (October 2007), Life Sciences (October 2003) and Teratology (December 1999).
