Claudia Barghash, M.D.
Dr Barghash completed her training in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital where she also served as Chief Resident. She then completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn in 2005.
Dr Barghash has been involved in several research projects both as an investigator and co-investigator particularly pertaining to reflux disease and Helicobacter pylori.
She received a full scholarship to medical school and was awarded 2nd place at the resident research competition at the Staten Island University Hospital. She scored in the top one percentile of the American Board of Internal Medicine Certification Exam.
She is currently on staff at Somerset Medical Center. Dr Barghash is available for office and hospital consultations as well as for endoscopic procedures in both locations.
She has considerable experience with inflammatory bowel and liver diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, and anorectal manometry.
